Scientific Writing in English
This course aims to take you step by step through both the theory and the actual writing of a good scientific paper in English.
Content
This course focuses on both the theory and the practice of writing effective scientific papers in English. The six half-day sessions are spread over six months, including the summer period. We start at the beginning with how to organise your material, choosing a journal and writing an abstract. We go through the IMRAD-structure and we look at aspects of grammar and style that are particularly important in scientific papers. Between each session, participants work on their paper.
A certain amount of text-checking is included in the course (120 minutes per participant). A full proofreading review of each article is available from English support, but is not included in the course.
