Press releases
You need to prepare for this by writing your own press release. Imagine that your thesis has been accepted, and you are going to write a press release to announce your defence. Even if your defence is a long way ahead you have an idea of what results your research may lead to (or you wish for). So give it a try! Should be 10-20 lines, max one page. If you want to see a press release from a SOAR PhD, go to www.soar.dk > PhD students: In the bottom you will find those who graduated. Mette Carter has a press release. Teaching will be in English, so it would be preferable if you write in English.
Visit to Landscentret
The purpose of this visit is to get an understanding of the relations between organic farmers, extension and research in Denmark.
- How is the Organic Farmers’ Union organised, and what does the organisation work with?
- How are ideas and issues from the farmers picked up and communicated to funding bodies and researchers?
- What is the role of the Farmers Union in communicating research results to the farmers?
- What is the role of extension service and Landscentret in communicating ideas and results between farmers and research?
Erik Fog is heading the department for Organic Farming at the National Centre.
Henrik Refsgaard is vice chairman in the Organic Farmers Union and head of FØL (Fund for Organic Farming).
