Supervision

SOAR is a research school. In addition to the focus on PhD students, SOAR also includes graduates, postdocs and supervisors in the activities and networks. This is important because they also constitute the research environment, in which the PhD student is under education. SOAR wants to contribute to the professional discussions with a special focus on the organic food and farming systems.

Information about SOAR

Ethics and our research in organic agriculture, food and energy systems for a sustainable future

This seminar is for For PhD students, supervisors and postdocs

Monday 28th March 2011 12am to Tuesday 29th March 2011 14pm, At Helnan Årslev Hotel, Silkeborgvej 900, 8220 Brabrand, Denmark.

How do we understand the ethical responsibility of farming to the organic principles? What dilemmas do we meet in practice? Is the seed production in accordance with the organic principles? What about organic fish production? In Denmark some organic milk producers want to have access to sexed semen – is that ‘organic’ ? Is it more ethical to produce organic cucumbers in New Zealand and transport them to Denmark than to produce them in Danish greenhouses? The days are currently being planned – we welcome inputs from you about ethical dilemmas and discussions linked to organic food and farming.
