SOAR is organised with a Steering Committee, a Head of School, a secretariat and a Scientific Panel.
The Head of SOAR reports to the Steering Committee on the activities under SOAR and manages the administration of SOAR and represents SOAR externally in the day-to-day business. The Head of SOAR establishes a secretariat. The overall task for the Head of SOAR is to ensure that the objectives and goals for SOAR are fulfilled as managing the budget and the practical day to day administration. The Head of SOAR shall within two months before the end of the calendar year prepare a draft for the annual strategy, the annual activity plan and budget for the coming year and present the drafts for discussion to the SOAR Scientific Panel.
SOAR is a research school. In addition to the focus on PhD students, SOAR also includes graduates, postdocs and supervisors in the activities and networks. This is important because they also constitute the research environment, in which the PhD student is under education. SOAR wants to contribute to the professional discussions with a special focus on the organic food and farming systems.
