The role of these are:
The Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is formed by one member from each of the three core partner institutions: LIFE; DJF and ICROFS. The Steering Committee members constitute themselves and appoint a chairman for a 3-year-period and have meetings at least every half year plus communicate when relevant for making decisions and approve budgets, activities, collaboration partners and accounts. They also appoint the Head of SOAR for a 3-year-period, and approve members for a Scientific Panel.
SOAR is a research school. In addition to the focus on PhD students, SOAR also includes graduates, postdocs and supervisors in the activities and networks. This is important because they also constitute the research environment, in which the PhD student is under education. SOAR wants to contribute to the professional discussions with a special focus on the organic food and farming systems.
